Willy Lai

Willy Lai

Director of User Experience Design, Internet and Emerging Technologies, Silicon Valley (USA)

With a career spanning over two decades, Willy Lai has led user experience design for many of the most recognized companies in technology.  Most recently, Willy led design for Milk Music, Samsung's new multi-device streaming radio app.  Prior to Samsung, Willy led large-scale, global redesigns for PayPal, Intuit, eBay, AOL, and numerous start-ups in Silicon Valley.  His designs are strategically aligned to meet user needs and business goals, and have garnered many industry awards.  His body of work includes in-house, agency, and consulting experience across Mobile, Tablet, Wearables, TV, and Web.  Willy is profiled in the 2014 Anniversary / Inspiration Issue of Design Bureau magazine.

Willy is a Design Mentor at Stanford University and teaches user experience design at UC Berkeley Extension.  He has also guest lectured at Academy of Art University and UCSC Extension Silicon Valley, where he taught user experience design and serves on their Advisory Board.  Willy holds a degree in Architecture from UC Berkeley's College of Environmental Design.
