Michael Carney helps lead FleishmanHillard’s public sector team, focusing on international trade policy. As the leader of FH’s public sector practice in EMEA, he combines deep knowledge of current events and public policy. He has served as a trusted advisor to a number of governments and companies, as they managed sensitive issues in the public, transportation, chemical and defence/security sectors. He has provided public affairs, media relations and crisis communications support to a range of government and corporate clients. His experience also includes helping major corporations manage crises in the mining, food, and defense sectors. Among his previous roles, Carney, who has worked in both Washington, D.C., and Brussels, was a journalist at USA Today, where he was responsible for the On Deadline blog, and with Reuters.
